Delivery overview

This week, colleagues from Socitm Advisory have been volunteering their time by coaching and mentoring Glasgow residents with pre-employability skills.

The project being hosted by Clyde Gateway and FARE Scotland is part of the Supporting Families initiative aimed at supporting people into or back into work.

Residents who attended the coffee morning this week had one-to-one conversations on a range of pre-employability topics. How to overcome anxieties about entering the workplace, transferable skills from parents and carers into the workplace, and advice on sharing skills and selling yourself to others were some of the most popular themes discussed.

Our colleagues, who hold a range of positions from across our consultancy, also offered practical advice, for example sharing IT tools that can help with job searches and creating profiles that stand out to recruiters.

Aisling Jubb, Head of Organisational Design & Change at Socitm Advisory comments, “I found the volunteering day extremely valuable. To be able to share my experience with others was hugely rewarding, and I had some brilliant conversations with people who said they benefited from attending the session.

Well done to Clyde Gateway and FARE Scotland for setting up the project and thank you for inviting us to be part of it”.
