The challenge
Last month, our CEO, Tony Summers completed an epic cycling challenge riding 1,219 km (756 miles) across France. Alongside his eldest son, Sioni, he rode the 3-day Paris-Brest-Paris cycle ride, known as the longest, continuously running, endurance cycling event in the world.
A test of endurance
There was a time cap for completing this change – 84 hours – but after over 81 hours of cycling Tony had finished. In fact he had two and half hours to spare! He was joined by 8,000 riders from 77 different countries, and he spent a gruelling 16 hours a day on his bike, sleeping just 2 hours a day and burning over 35,000 calories in total.
Tony Summers, CEO comments, “A true test of endurance, this challenge has been one of the hardest, but most rewarding so far. It’s fantastic to have raised vital funds for YoungMinds. YoungMinds is an important charity, ensuring every young person receives mental health support when they need it”.
Young Minds
Tony has so far raised over £500 for mental health charity, Young Minds. Young Minds is a mental health charity for children, young people and their parents, making sure all young people can get the mental health support they need.
